Community Housing and Credit Resource Center

 

 

The Community Housing & Credit Resource Center (CHCRC), a New York-based non-profit organization that will work with tenants, homebuyers, and owners of small properties and small businesses. CHCRC mission will also focus on the American community to enable low and moderate income individuals & families to create asset wealth building by securing their existing rental apartment; improving and owning a single family house, and or assistance to start their own business which will help build the community economics through neighborhood reinvestments. CHCRC would also like to help individuals or families take the first step in educating themselves financially so that they can obtain and maintain affordable housing, obtain the best financial services and future employment through workforce development partnerships. Whether individuals or families are ready or not to seek affordable housing or job employment; the credit and financial counseling will be beneficial, because having bad credit may prevent employers and landlords to hire or rent out to people who are consider potential risk for not being responsible in paying their debts and properly managing their money.

 

The Community Housing & Credit Resource Center will also focus on homeless prevention in New York, CHCRC will assist rental tenants retain their existing apartment to prevent rental eviction, advocating on behalf of individuals or families with housing court judges, landlords, government agencies and other organizations. CHCRC will commit to partner will various homeless prevention housing/shelter organizations, NYC Department of Homeless Prevention Services & HomeBase Prevention Program, Housing Urban Development (HUD), Housing Preservation Development (HPD), Catholic Charities, NYC Housing Authority, and other housing development agencies.

CHCRC will carry out the mission and goals by creating a partnership network with various non-profit organizations, government agencies, commercial banks with community reinvestment act (CRA), community developers and foundations to create affordable housing for low-moderate individuals and families within the New York community. CHCRC will market and promote homeownership and rental assistance among the NYC residence, and by doing so, Community Housing and Credit Resource Center will help residence take charge of their neighborhood & create economic wealth within the New York community.

Community Assistance Program (CAP):

-Assist rental tenants retain their existing apartment to prevent rental eviction -Advocating on behalf of families with judges, landlords, government agencies and other organizations. This may often includes working with Catholic Charities and Homebase -Help achieve the American Dream of homeownership and prevent predatory lending -Foreclosure prevention on mortgage delinquencies by working with client’s mortgage lender for forbearance -Provide information on homeowners repair & energy assistance grants -Provide assistance on affordable housing -Conduct one-on-one credit & home counseling -Provide monthly financial & homeownership educational workshops -Reverse mortgage counseling, educational workshops, and consumer educational resources
